continue143 Experience camping -yurt style
The Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department offers deluxe yurts at several of its South Coast sites.Yurts are conical-topped, circular Mongolian tents on wooden frames. Each deluxe model measures 24 feet in diameter and can sleep up to seven people. They also come equipped with a bathroom, shower, small kitchen area, dining table and an electric fireplace. Other amenities include a refrigerator, microwave oven and television with a VCR.
Also available are less plush models that sleep up to five people and include electricity, heaters, skylights, bunk beds and futons.
Reservations are required for all State Park yurts and other camping facilities. For more information or to book a yurt, those interested can call Reservations Northwest at (800) 452-5687.
